this drawing was inspired from the 35-year-old elephant named Mali, an Asian elephant imprisoned at the Manila Zoo,the historic Zoo, once a major attraction of the Philippines, now finds itself the target of criticism for the condition of its animals, particularly its "star", an elephant named Mali.

As pressure mounts from different groups and individuals, Manila Zoo remains firm on their stand against their lone elephant Mali's (full name: Vishwa Maali) being transfered to an elephant sanctuary abroad.
